I pray this does the book justice! I searched for a word that was out of the ordinary to describe this book but all the Lord said to me was "Powerful"! So here goes.... When I first read this book I expected to read a book of marriage, divorce and healing (which is all true) but it was so much more than that! Although, I feel very blessed in my marriage I know we still have to guard it but this book truly dealt with me on a level that didn't involve my marriage at all! In fact I didnt realize how "Powerful" this book would be in my own personal life. The book honestly for me is a book based on deliverance, being broken and real, which is what I needed! Deana takes the book to a level that no matter where your at in your life you can somehow relate! The author allows you into her personal pain and healing but in the end you will be the one that actually comes out healed and prayerfully transformed! Even if your not walking through a challenge in your marriage read the book and then apply the principles she points out into your life....I know you will not be the same. reviewed by Susan R. Deana's transparency is something we need more of. Perhaps if we would talk about our struggles, instead of trying to cover them up, we could help other people avoid the dangers we fell prey to. I suggest men and women read this book. It is eye opening about the vulnerabilities of mankind. Deana has great wisdom and insight from her journey. Take the time to read this book, and glean from her story.
It's a rollercoaster of emotions! You'll laugh, cry, and possibly be angered. You may even relate with her. You could feel her remorse, her pain, and her love of God and family. I could relate to her while reading this book on so many levels. This is a read for more than just those whom have gone through divorce, this is for ANYONE who has had ANY kind of hurt in their lives. A MUST read!
Reading this type of book, one is accustomed to a, perhaps, more clinical approach and dialogue of the subject. Good words, of course, but a little unattached.
Not so with this book. The author pulls you directly into her anxiety and my emotions were engaged from the first pages.
Well organized and concise. The advice was simple to understand as it related directly to the experiences of the author, and my own emotional similitude.
